Current events in the world are causing a rapid evolution of life as we’ve known it, leading many to have feelings of anxiety, fear, depression, and panic at unprecedented numbers.
When we live in a fearful, overwhelmed, or anxious state, it is nearly impossible to think freely and creatively.
Imagine the opportunities that are missed personally, socially, and financially when you are operating under chronic stress. Not to mention that chronic stress has been found to be at the root of almost all diseases.
I’m Meghan Bass-Petti, the owner and founder of Quietly Inspired. I can help you understand and release this stressful, anxious, overwhelmed, and fearful way of living through online therapy, coaching, and/or private yoga therapy sessions.
I can also help you discover why these patterns developed in the first place and how you can eliminate them to live with more ease and contentment.
My husband and I relocated from Illinois to New Mexico in 2004 and now reside in the beautiful Sandia Mountains outside of Albuquerque, New Mexico, about an hour south of Sante Fe. We have two teenagers, two dogs, and two cats just to make everything even.
From the time I was very young, I've had an interest in human behavior and why we do the things that we do. In college, I started out as a psychology major and ended up completing a Bachelor of Arts in sociology at the University of Illinois.
I then began a career as a caseworker, primarily for children who were in foster care and in need of an adoptive home, later moving to the licensing and resources department. During my time at this agency, I completed a Master of Social Work Degree (also through the University of Illinois) specializing in Child Welfare.
After moving to New Mexico and working as a trauma therapist for children and families, I took a long hiatus from the therapy world to be a stay-at-home mom to my son and daughter. During this time, I continued to study about human behavior, psychology, social work, and trauma.
It took many years for me to begin going to yoga classes, although I had practiced on and off at home along with videos for a few years. I was SO INTIMIDATED to be in classes with others who were far more flexible, confident, and relaxed.
I had suffered from depression and anxiety for many years following my mother's sudden death when I was 18 and was very rigid- not only in my mind as I wanted to control everything about my life- but also in my body, which was holding on tightly to years and years of stress and trauma.
After attending studio classes for a few years and forming supportive relationships with encouraging teachers, I began what became the cannonball stage of my life.
I completed yoga teacher training in 2018, then went on to become certified in several specialty areas- LoveYourBrain Yoga (for traumatic brain injury), Yoga for All (accessible yoga for all bodies), SilverSneakers (yoga for seniors), MiniYogis (yoga for kids), Functional Yoga Therapy, Pain Care Aware Yoga, and Trauma Informed Yoga.
Also in 2018, I completed Strategic Intervention Life Coach training and in 2020, began seeing mental health therapy clients again due to the crisis of the COVID-19 pandemic.
I have become increasingly interested in somatics, nervous system health, and the brain-body connection over time. Our experiences do not just reside in our emotions or in our minds, but are expressed through our breath, our posture, our digestive system, our sleep, and how much pain we're feeling at any given time.
I became a Certified Safe and Sound Protocol and Focus System facilitator in 2020 and a Certified Posture Expert with the American Posture Institute in 2021. Additionally, I am trained in EMDR and Trauma Informed Stablization Treatment.
By 2022, I had completed over 800 hours of training to become a Certified Yoga Therapist with Inner Peace Yoga Therapy, bridging my curiosity and study of our emotional and mental health with the physical and spiritual aspects of our being. During this year, I also completed certification as a Connected Parenting Therapist and Coach with Jennifer Kolari.
In 2023, I began studying craniosacral therapy with Etienne Peirsman, NeuroCoaching with Mark Robert Waldman, and became a Certified Trainer for the Nurtured Heart Approach as additional means of healing and transformation.
It would be an honor and a privilege to come alongside you on your journey to wellness- body, mind, and spirit!
